Most of Sherwood sucks... one huge strip mall, wall-to-wall people and
speed traps. But I've always liked Old Town Sherwood.
Here's a shot of Julie's Grandmother's house that was purchased in 1932 when
she came out here from North Dakota during the dust bowl. Julie spent a lot of
time here in teh 1960's when Sherwood was a sparsely populated, little Mayberry
Country town.
Julie's Father and Uncle are listed on this WWII memorial.
The J.C. Smock House, built in 1868.
Stella Olsen Park. The Olsens were major figures in old Sherwood.
We met a woman who lives adjacent to the trailhead who moved here in 1947.
