Pictures of our 2011, 2012 and 2013 trips to Fort Stevens.

Pictures of past trips to Fort Columbia are HERE and HERE.

Fort Stevens is a nice little day trip. It's operated by the Oregon State Parks
system so you'll need to buy a day use pass (or have an annual pass). The fort is
staffed with helpful, knowledgeable volunteers who can tell you a lot about the
fort's history.

The last time we were in Klootchy Park was several years ago.
And the place was pretty much under water then.

This is what's left of the World's biggest sitka spruce tree that was 800 years old
when it got hit by lightning. This is all that's left.

It was a gorgeous, sunny, warm day by the time I got to Fort Stevens, in Hammond,
Oregon.

The scotch broom is starting to bloom.

Then across the river to Fort Columbia.
