Cashmere is a very nice little town with very nice people. This ride was planned
around a trip to Leavenworth, Washington but the motel room prices there are nothing
short of insane. So we opted to make Cashmere our base of operations which turned
out to be a smart move.
We stayed at the Village Inn which is owned by a young Korean family. They are
very gracious hosts and are very accommodating. The rooms are nothing fancy although
they are meticulously clean. Million channel cable TV and air conditioning. Free
coffee in the lobby in the morning. All at very reasonable prices. What more could
you want?
There are a lot of interesting cottages and bungalows circa 1920 here in town.
Looks like three members of this family are serving in the Military.
The people who own the local Country Boy's BBQ place are very nice. It's not
Texas BBQ of course, but it's a tasty meal and the portions are generous.
The 59er Diner has good food and a very cool 1959 motif.
Next stop,
Leavenworth, Washington.
