This ride was originally planned for 2011.

This ride is sponsored by the clueless idiots at Occupy Portland. Living proof
that drugs will definitely fry your brain. Funded by the Billionaire George Soros
so that they can protest... wait for it.... WEALTHY PEOPLE! People that stupid
should not be allowed out in public without a handler.

Undeterred, we're off to enjoy what is probably one of the last warm, dry weekends
in 2012.

No problems finding fuel on this tour. There is no gas at the I-84/Highway 74
interchange so don't head down if you are on empty. There is an unbranded gas
station in Ione and Shell stations in Lexington and Heppner. The latter are open
on Sundays. There is a Hatts station in Condon, also open on Sunday. No gas that
we saw in Wasco or anywhere in between so you want to fill up in Heppner.

There are more pictures of this ride by clicking the links for:
Hardman part one, Hardman part two, and Ione.

This ride is part of the Oregon Blue Mountain Tour (more or less...)

It doesn't take very long before you notice a very strong Irish, St. Patty's
influence in Heppner. Which struck me as odd since the inhabitants don't strike
me as being particularly Irish. I grew up a block from the Eire Pub, after all and
my Father grew up in Southie, both VERY Irish places...

It was nice to visit a town where the inhabitants actually *LIKE* America and are
proud to be Americans... instead of listening to the gratuitous comments made by
Commie Liberal whack jobs about how they "appreciate a Veteran's service".... and
to not have to deal with wall-to-wall traffic where every other car is a Prius with
his and her Obama 2012 bumper stickers. Being around people who just don't "get"
this so-called "Occupy everything" lunacy gives me hope that perhaps the USA isn't
doomed just yet.

There are five churches (at least) in this town of 300-something residents. I'm guessing
that Gay marriage, Socialism and flag burning doesn't get much traction out here.

We stayed at the Northwestern Motel... a nice little place and the only motel for
40-something miles in any direction. $58 per night (total!)... includes Direct TV
with a few of the movie channels. A/C, nice bed.... not a bad deal at all!

Here's an interesting home we saw in Heppner. Notice anything unusual?

The Heppner Tractor, RV and buckboard Dealership asked Julie to be their
SpokesModel and of course Julie can never say no to anyone.....

Suzy was a happy goil. Wearing her new shoes and off for a nice weekend ride while
Harley sits it out in the garage. Plus, Suzy got a nice oil change as soon as we got
back home. Happy, happy, happy....
